Tesla Model Y Under-Screen Organizer Review: Fixed vs Foldable EVBASE Tray
Quick verdict: I would buy the foldable EVBASE hidden tray if I were choosing only one. It gives me the extra behind-screen storage when I need it, then folds away when I want the cabin to look cleaner. The fixed magnetic tray is still a strong pick if you want the simplest always-open shelf.
I installed both versions in my Model Y and photographed them from multiple angles. Both use the dead space behind the center screen, both have a clean smoked-plastic look, both use a rubber anti-slip surface, and both stayed tucked behind the screen without affecting my normal view or touchscreen controls.

My pick
Foldable hidden magnetic tray
Best if you want hidden storage only when needed, with the cleanest cabin look when folded away.

Fixed magnetic under-screen box
Best if you want the tray open every time you drive and prefer the simplest structure.
Check fixed EVBASE tray →Why the foldable version is my pick
The foldable version makes the most sense once it is installed. Opened, it creates a shallow shelf under the center screen for cards, keys, sunglasses, receipts, a small case, or other light everyday items. Stowed, the tray folds back and mostly disappears behind the display.
That is the deciding factor for me. I like the extra storage, but I also like keeping the Tesla cabin clean. The foldable version gives me both modes instead of making the tray visible all the time.

The fixed version is still good
The fixed magnetic storage box is not the worse product. It is just the simpler one. If you know you will use the shelf every drive, the fixed version is easier to justify because it is always open and has fewer decisions involved.
The sample I received looked clean out of the box: smoked transparent upper section, black lower tray, textured rubber anti-slip pad, and no obvious rough edges or molding flaws in the photos I took. Installed behind the screen, it added storage without taking over the cupholders, armrest area, wireless charging pad, or existing lower console space.

Installed fit: hidden storage without making the cabin feel crowded
The practical win is not just storage. It is where the storage goes. Both trays use the space behind the center screen, which is normally wasted. From my installed photos, the tray stays below and behind the display instead of sitting in the middle of the cabin.
I could still see and use the screen normally. It did not block the lower control bar, and it did not steal the cupholders, charging pad, armrest bin, or passenger space. During driving, I did not notice shaking from either setup.

My buying advice
Buy the foldable version if you care about a cleaner cabin and only need the shelf sometimes. Buy the fixed version if you want the simplest always-ready shelf. I did not find an obvious deal-breaker with either one in my use; the choice is mostly about whether you want the tray to fold away.
FAQ
Are these the same product?
No. They are two EVBASE under-screen storage products with similar behind-screen storage goals. One is fixed and always open; the other has a foldable hidden tray.
Which one would I buy?
The foldable version. I prefer being able to hide the tray when I do not need it.
Is the fixed version still recommended?
Yes. If you use the shelf all the time and want the simpler structure, the fixed tray is a clean choice.
